Busy Week of Meetings – Nov 11-15!

This week brings an extremely busy week for land use requests and meetings. There are seventy-three (73) agenda items on the November Planning Commission agenda. Meetings are:

  1. 11:30AM TuesdayPlanning Commission Agenda Review meeting
  2. (likely to be postponed) 4PM Tuesdaypublic hearing regarding establishing a Residential Infrastructure Improvement District for 2814 Tipton Station Rd, requested by DR Horton
  3. 5PM Thursday – County Commission Zoning. Due to the new schedule, this occurs before the November Planning Commission meeting. There is a controversial rezoning on Babelay Rd (10-H-24-RZ)
  4. 5-7PM Wednesday – East Knox Mobility Study Public Meeting at Gibbs Middle School
  5. 1:30PM ThursdayPlanning Commission meeting

Below is a highlight of planning cases that KCPA believes the community will be interested in. Significant ones include the first Planned Development the city has seen in a while (on Riverside Dr, # 29), a rezoning on Tazewell Pike near Beverly Park (#44), rezoning to 5 du/ac in Rural Conservation on Hammer Rd (#47), 141 Smitbilt homes on Roberts Rd in Corryton (#56), townhomes on Asheville Hwy (#62), revisions to the Midway Business Park Guidelines (#69), and a convenience store on Concord Rd next to the Village of Old Concord (#73).
